OLAPLEX

olaplex1

So i’m really loving the restorative power of the Olaplex…and believe me i’m cynical where hair products are concerned. I’ve been through a spell over overly bleaching my hair..and I’ve caused a lot of damage…breakage, excessive dryness and a lot of blown out cuticles…

yes yes, as a hair professional i do to my own hair what i would NEVER do with a client! So I’ve been using Olaplex on my own hair and I’ve been super impressed. Now don’t get me wrong, with the amount of damage I’ve done, it hasn’t restored it in one go, but after a few treatments the condition has visibly improved (and the internal integrity too) …and it looks much much healthier!

So i’m readying up a menu of services to hopefully suit all my clients and potential newbie clients too.

The No. 1 treatment is the most intense and is always performed first, followed by the No. 2 treatment. However, for maintenance, the No. 2 treatment can also be used on its own. In fact, it’s said that Kim Kardashian goes to sleep with her No. 2 treatment on!

That’s right..there is now this little…and i mean little bottle of wonder called OLAPLEX.
olaplex2

So you want the WHAT… HOW…. WHEN… WHERE…?

What..?

OLAPLEX helps repair the damage caused by PAST chemical services (colour, lightening/bleach/perming/straightening)
OLAPLEX helps repair the PAST damage caused by every day living…brushing, tonging, straightening, sun, wind, rain and chlorine.
OLAPLEX helps prevents FUTURE damage from chemical services and everyday living

How…?

I wont get too technical, but i do have the science if anyone is interested.
Lets just say OLAPLEX works inside the hair shaft on the bonds rather than the outer layer like conditioners do.
It doesn’t wash out. The new bonds are as permanent as the ones nature provides.

When…?

You can have a stand alone OLAPLEX treatment, or OLAPLEX added to an existing chemical service.

Stand Alone OLAPLEX Treatment £45.00

Including Olaplex treatment No. 1, No.2, Shampoo and Condition No. 5, No.6 and finally No.8 Bonding Oil to finish with a blowdry

ADD-ON OLAPLEX £25.00

If you are having a wash and blow dry,  a colour or a bleaching service, we can add this treatment in

Where..?

I work as a freelance Hairstylist.
Visit me in my private home salon, enjoy refreshments and have an indulgent treatment.

Party Season Hair

So you’re out late, up early,no time to look after your hair…

Sound familiar…?

Well help is at hand…whether your hair is dry and tangled….or limp and oily…we can help you with 4 go to products in your Essential Kit: Dry Shampoo, Back Brush, Clip, Hair Oil

Dry Shampoo

professional: amika   TIGI BedHead  store purchase: Batiste Superdrug

dry

these little miracles in a bottle will instantly dry out any oily tresses, add a refreshing fragrance to your bonce, and give added oomph into lang limp locks.

Back Comb Brushbrush

Some things are worth a splurge, others are not…well, that’s my opinion anyway.

This is a simple backcomb brush, 95p from Wilkinsons, used to add volume. Its more gentle than a comb and gives a more even result.

Hair Oil

ka_navbar-velvet-oil_d

My go to is Kadus Velvet Oil,
its a professional product,
so only available through salons (myself).

However there are many hair oils available on the market, look for Macademia oil and Argan oil.

Less is more and focus on the tips/ends (STAY AWAY FROM THE ROOTS)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So when You wake up and you are faced with a birds nest…dry ends and tangled tresses  in the morning…what to do
Messy up do or a smooth back and twist up?
The trickiest bit…tip head upside-down…it may be screaming and thumping at this point if messybunphotos-2You’ve enjoyed the festive drinks a little too much !  But we wont be long so grin andbear it for a little nit!
Brush over the surface lightly..for stuborn knots make sure you start at the ends and ease up to the roots.
Gather the hair into a pony tail all around, and glide the brush down the back, sides and front, wrap a hair elastic around it several times and pull through in a messy up do or twist and clip.  Then add a little oil to the ends to refine  and add a luxurious fragrance to your hair.
However, if Your faced with a lank oily mess….You need the Dry shampoo
Upside down…spray liberally to the roots..then massage in
This helps to work it into the oily roots.  Section by section back brush through the roots with the backcomb brush,and then smooth over the surface with a few stroke and simply leave, braid…or clip it up and away.
Post Summer Hair Care
So the summer holidays are over with, the memories are fading, but we are still left with dehydrated and sun damaged hair.
Fear not, there are a wealth of treatments available from either your Hair Salon,store beauty supplier/supermarket and even in your kitchen cupboard.
I’m a hair professional, i’m always going to advocate a professional salon treatment, because i see the benefits first hand. Your stylist will be able to tailor make the right treatment for you, and you get to relax and enjoy that wonderful head massage that accompanies a deluxe conditioning treatment.
BUT…we can’t all make the time, and don’t all have the money.oil
My next ‘go-to’ would all be the at home natural products.
Coconut oil is a really amazing natural hair conditioner. It’s solid at room temperature…or at least it will be now the summers over, so simply scoop some out and apply generously to the mid lengths and ends…
TIP..avoid your scalp and roots unless you want to have that oil slick feel.Simply wash out with a product cleansing shampoo and conditioner…voila.
However, if baths and scooping out oils aren’t your thing…then head over to any supermarket or chemist and you will see a plethora of goodies. Anything is better than nothing when it comes to conditioning hair….so get going girls and give your tresses a treat!
Curl-Up & Dye have stand alone Conditioning treatments which include an in-salon mask, ends balm a blow dry and a cuppa from&7.50 –  £20.
